We are followers of Jesus who find value in the Methodist tradition. We are connected to a larger group of followers of Jesus who believe that connected we can do more for our brothers and sisters — whether feeding the hungry, advocating for children, opposing unjust systems or sharing the good news that we find in Jesus the Christ.
We take seriously what Jesus said and what Jesus did: feeding people, healing people, teaching people and accepting them where they are in their lives. We believe in doing no harm, doing good and staying in love with God. We grow in faith by studying the scriptures, worshiping God, and serving our neighbors.
Rev. Barbara Phillips – Schnecker
I would like to introduce myself as your new pastor. I am an ordained elder in the West Ohio Conference, and have most recently served at Otterbein Lebanon UMC as a pastor/chaplain and Xenia Faith Community UMC. My undergraduate work was at Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati, where I earned my nursing degree. I have worked as a registered nurse at Bethesda North Hospital, Mary Rutan Hospital, and Jewish Hospital. My former years as a nurse became a pathway to God’s call on my life into full time ministry. I soon learned that God used my gifts and skills to not only help to physically heal others, but spiritually help, guide and teach as well.
I attended United Theological Seminary in Trotwood, Ohio and graduated with a Master’s of Divinity. It was at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati that I did my Clinical Pastoral Education.
I am honored and blessed to be serving here at Hyde Park Bethlehem UMC. In just the short time that I have been here, I can tell there is a lot of great people in this church and the surrounding community.
I am available by telephone or email and an anxious to get to know you and your family and friends. I will have small group get togethers soon so we can get to know each other. Please listen and watch for those opportunities and invite others to join you.
My contact information is:
Email – email@example.com
Cell Phone – 513-509-8738
I am available during the week, Monday – Thursday and Sunday’s. My day off will be on Friday’s, however for emergencies, I am available 24/7.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as well. I can feel the power and presence of the Holy Spirit and my prayer is that we unleash that power to build God’s Kingdom together!
